Premier Competition

Physics Unlimited's 2018 Premier Competition took place on Sunday, November 18, 2018.
We invite high school students around the world to take part in this internationally-hosted equivalent of the PUPC onsite event. If you are an eligible participant who would like to compete onsite at Princeton, please proceed to the PUPC website (run independently of Physics Unlimited) and follow their instructions.

Physics Unlimited oversees global sites, facilitated through partnerships with educational and non-profit institutions listed here.

Competitors are given 1.5 hours to write their solutions to approximately four problems of the level and scope roughly equivalent to what one may expect in a U.S.-based AP Physics C curriculum. Therefore, problems may cover areas beyond classical mechanics.

Kinds of prizes
The standard prizes include conventional gold, silver, and bronze medal recognition, in addition to honorable mention certificates. All competitors additionally receive a certificate of participation at the particular site.

If you participated in our first Premier Competition 2017, we hope you have both enjoyed and were challenged by the featured problems, and we encourage you to participate in our other recurring events, such as the academically rewarding PhysiKarma initiative.

Finally, we would like to extend gratitide to our partners representating the international sites hosting the competition for their time and dedication, and look forward to expanding our partnership network in the coming year.

Best of luck in your academic pursuits!
